3 Years and Counting...

On October 14th Tyler and I celebrated our 3 yr Anniversary! I know, I know, it seems hard to believe, but it is true! Since our actual anniversary was on a Wednesday, we did not have much planned, but Tyler surprised me by coming home with flowers. I am normally not a flowers person, I would just rather take the money and go buy a new shirt or something, but Ty always does so good picking them out, it melts my heart and I would not trade it for the world! He picked out different colors of gerber daisies, which I love.

We then drove up to the Mayan for dinner. We have only been there one other time, but really like it just for the atmosphere. Here again, Tyler surprised me with a gorgeous antique turquoise ring. He always knows he can’t go wrong with turquoise with me! He did a good job of making me feel really lame as I handed him my handwritten sappy card.

Later that week we were lucky to be able to go spend a night up at Snowbird. We left Friday afternoon and enjoyed a beautiful ride up Little Cottonwood. After checking in, we enjoyed our home cooked meal inside, and then went on a chilly walk around the resort. After which we were ready for swimming and the hot tub!

Saturday we woke up, and went to the Forklift for breakfast, which was included in our room. It was so yummy, and enjoyable in the mountain air! We then went on a hike up to Twin Lakes Pass. It is cool, because you can get there from Alta, (the way we went) or from Brighton. It was such a beautiful and perfect hiking day. It was such a relaxing, and well needed getaway, the only thing we missed was the labs!

I feel so lucky to have Tyler in my life, he has the biggest heart of anyone I know. I look forward to all the good years to come and I can honestly say that the past 3 have been the hardest yet best 3 yrs of my life! Love ya babe!

Monster Blog

So it has been a while since my last blog, and many things to blog about, so I decided to just combine them into one Monster Blog, here it goes!

1. West Desert: Rattlesnake Canyon, Wayne's World Waterfall
A couple Saturday's ago we went out to the West Desert for some wheelin' fun. We were invited to go with our friend Chip and his brother-in-law's friend or something. It also just happened to be that our friends Griff and Chandler were going to be out there camping as well in Griff's Bronco. Ty's good friend Mike and his girlfriend from Brazil, Julianna, rode with us as well. We were both really excited, because it had been a while since taking the Jeep out to play. It was such a hot day, and there were lots of annoying bugs, but it was worth it. We had a lot of fun. We ran into another group out there that thought it was cool to roll their rigs, how weird. We saw no rollovers, but did see the aftermath. Not cool to me, but maybe I just don't understand!

2. Wakeboarding: Utah Lake
Griff invited us to go out on his boat one Saturday afternoon. It had been a few years since I had been wakeboarding, and it was a first for Ty. Chandler was first out on the lake, and was pretty entertaining to watch. After multiple back flip attempts, he was tired out and Tom was up next.

Tom was so funny because if ever he didn't think he was going to land something he would just let go and sink. I think 9 times out of 10 he would have been just fine, but it made us laugh a lot. Then it was time for the pro, Griff. He made everything look so easy, jumping the whole wake, 360's, the whole bit. I was amazed.

The beginner Ty was up. He got up on his first try and didn't look like a beginner at all. He was a natural. Jumping one side of the wake, and riding switch (accidentally!) He fell in love with it immediately. It is funny because he skated for a long time and also snowboards, but explained it perfectly. They are somewhat similar, you feel like you are in control, but then you realize that you aren't at all.

Last the best! Not really, though, it was my turn. It was fun to get back on a wakeboard after a few years. For anyone who knows me, they know I love to do anything in the water. I did improve though on going outside the wake on my backside. I could go outside on my front side all day, but needed to get better back side, so one day maybe I will be like Griff!

Then it was time for tubing, my ultimate favorite. Ty and I went together and held on for dear life. Tubing is my favorite because really you are getting worked the whole time, but laughing hysterically. I even bit my lip, but still had a smile on my face. Tom and Chandler went next, and then Chan went by himself. At one point, he was completely vertical up against the wake. It was fun to get to hang out with old friends agian, after so long.

3. Labor Day Weeked: Moab, UT
We spent the long weekend with our off-roading buddies Griff, Chandler, and Garrett. Tyler and I were extra excited because we hadn't been to Moab since we moved to Idaho. We rolled into our campsite at Pack Creek Campground late Friday night. It was the first time camping at an actual campground in Moab. It was $5 per person, per night and totally worth it. The campground wasn't bad, and it had a bathroom with showers. Usually this is no issue, becuase it is just a weekend, but with my allergies and how hot and sweaty it got, showers were nice. This just may turn into our usual camp spot from now on.

We only did one trail, but split it up into two days. The trail we did was called Behind The Rocks. It totalled almost 15 miles. It was not a loop, but the trial ends and cuts into a county road, so at about 7 or 8 miles we were able to get on the county road and then drive back to that place to continue and finish the next day. The main reason why we divided it up was because one of Griff's u-joints broke, and one of Ty's transmission mounts broke. So we really needed to fix the rigs before finishing, because there were quite a few difficult obstacles ahead.

The second day was more exciting than the first. Many challenging obstacles, most of which were going down. We completed the trial with hardly any carnage. You can do the trail backwards as well, which we thought would be fun to do some other trip. We want to get some other rigs to come with next time, you know who you are!!

So now that I am all caught up on my posts, hopefully I will stay that way!

Hunting Season...already

One of Tyler's best friends drew out for a limited draw deer hunt down in Southern UT and invited us to come out and camp the weekend of the opener. We went down with another one of Ty's good friends, Mike, and his girlfriend from Brazil, Julianna. Tyler and Mike have both drawn the same tag and hunted this area in the past, so I am sure it was good to have some experience along.

Opening morning I slept in and Adam shot his deer. I was grateful for this because I did not want to see him shoot it and now we could play! He did end up getting a really good deer, Tyler and Mike were both very proud. Guss and Coal were both with us, Coal loves the deer and kisses them, but Guss was scared of it. It was funny to watch them.

After the work was done, we went over to Tropic Reservoir for some swim time, which is my favorite! The dogs needed to get out of the desert too. We swam for quite a while to build up an appetite. We ate at a really good local restaurant, had prime rib, soup, salad, homemade bread, and apple pie ala mode, mmmm!

It was a such and fun quick weekender trip with close friends! I really don't want Summer to end.
