Zoe's First Word

I am counting "Hi" as Zoe's first official word. She has said "Mama and Dada," but I don't know if she made the connection, or just was mimicking us when she was first saying these few words. With "Hi" she knew what it meant, and waves as well, melts my heart. She has been saying it for a while, and loves to say "Hi" mostly to other kids.

Another thing she likes doing now is showing us her tongue. At first, Ty was wondering why I taught her to stick out her tongue. But we were just doing body parts and that was the one that stuck! It is the first thing that she wants to show me in the morning, haha! She also likes turning on anything electronic. The cd player, or the direct TV brain at my parents. The other day she finally found out the cd player opens with a certain button, oh that just blew her mind! She also likes to clap and sing "Popcorn popping on the Apricot Tree" she does the little popcorn actions with her hands.

Her most favorite thing is being outside with the dogs. Guss is mostly scared of her, but Coal loves to get her with kisses. We have been working on planting a garden in some raised boxes, so we were outside and we finally decided to let Zoe just crawl around in the dirt. Of course she found the one tiny little spot that was muddy, but we just let her keep playing she loved it so much.

For the most part she is very cautious, I am counting this as a blessing. Don't get me wrong, she is very curious and gets into everything, but at least cautious. She doesn't have much an interest in walking, she will just stand there for a second unsupported and then just slowly sit. We are not rushing her though, she is already tough to keep up with.

We are looking forward to lots of weekend getaways this summer with her. Camping, hiking, swimming, I know she will love it all!

Zoe Turns 1!

Zoe turned one on April 8th. It was actually Easter that day, so we decided to celebrate the day before. We were lucky enough with the weather to be able to go to a park, it was perfect and sunny, even though the day before was like one of the best snow days we'd had all year. She didn't get to blow out her candle, because the wind kept blowing it out for her, but she did eat her whole cupcake except for the frosting which ended up all over her! And now for picture overload :)

 Grandma Bea
 Pops
 Uncle Mike
Grandma Diane with Zoe and cousin Charlie
Cousin Cambri (this girl is a pro at the swings)
 Uncle Ben
 Milo and Uncle Ty Ty
 Cody and Charlie
 Milo (love this big guy!)

Tyler and Cody, just a couple of big kids themselves

Grandpa Al, the biggest kid on this playground
Everyone had to take their turn swingin', it was a lot of fun, and very entertaining.
She liked the swings a lot, but wasn't sure quite what do to, she just kind of hung there!

Luckily Milo was there to help Zoe with her presents, she got a lot of fun stuff, so blessed with lots of people that love her!

Since her actual birthday was on Easter, she got spoiled two days in a row! Easter is my favorite holiday, so I was super excited to have her birthday on Easter this year. I can't believe we have a toddler now. I am so blessed to have this perfect little soul in my life, I love her more than anything, and more than I ever knew I could love something!
