Springtime Treasures

Spring brings many great treasures, warmer weather (most of the time), brighter colors, longer days, and Easter!! My favorite holiday. But to Tyler it means Shed Antler "treasure hunting" season.

Tyler spends a lot of time out in the "secret locations" that I don't even get to know, looking for the antlers that the deer, elk, and moose shed every year. These things are not easy to find either, it usually entails hiking up and down mountains all day long. Talk about legs of jell-o at the end of the day! He goes with a few of his friends, his brother Shane, and sometimes the dogs. Coal goes more than Guss, because some of the terrain is just too hard for a dog missing a hind leg.

He has been doing it for years and it is amazing because he has soo many and he always wants more. What is even more amazing is that he remembers where he got each one. At times he pulls a bunch out of the antler vault and quizzes me to see if I remember where he told me it came from. I almost always fail the quiz, because most look the same to me.

Here are a few pics of what they have found so far this year.
